Creating and editing Companies

Companies are used within Rapptr to limit portfolio and entity visibility to users. This allows you to define which company's results are accessible per user.

By default, your environment is created with a single top level company that users and portfolios can be assigned to.

Admin users can add additional companies via the companies screen (Admin > Setup > Companies).

When creating a company a name and Parent Company is required. 

Users, portfolios and entities can then be assigned to the new company.

User portfolio visibility is limited to portfolios of the company and its sub-companies. 

For example "Company" has "Client A" and "Client B" sub-companies. A user assigned to "Company" can see portfolios for "Company", "Client A" and "Client B". A user assigned to "Client A" can only see the portfolios assigned to "Company A".

Q. How can I change the name of the Parent Company?

A. Please contact support specifying the name change and the Client Services team will action this.

 

Q. Should you reference the top level entity of the top level company within the aggregation structure of a subsidiary?

A. Yes, where Chinese Walls exist and clients have set up a top level company with a subsidiary (as indicated by FA Capital Partners in the picture above), when uploading a portfolio file for the subsidiary, the top level entity should be referenced under the relevant portfolio ID columns. If a change in the aggregation structure from either the subsidiary or within the portfolios file upload from the top level company, this will be reflected in both.
